There's no denying that our economy is in a slow down. Some call it a recession. Regardless of what you call it, when there's a business slow down it's time to come up with a plan to meet it head on. There are several areas where business owners can focus attention and think about changes. First, review your marketing plan and see if it still makes sense. Are you investing the right amounts in the right media. Think about offering discounts and special promotions to draw buyers back into the market place. Second, keep an eye on what your competitors are doing to respond to the slow down. Many companies use recessions as a time to experiment. New products. New technology. New ideas. Some of our most successful companies start during recessions or slow downs. Third, analyze your business organization looking for cost cuts. If your business is slowing down, you won't need the type of infrastructure you had when things were humming along. It's a fact of life. Business slow downs occur. Meet them head on and you'll be ahead of the curve.
