Every entrepreneur needs a vision. It doesn't have to be a grandiose idea; it can be to bring the best service to customers in the insurance or grocery business. It might be to offer a new kind of approach to marketing shoes or purses, or infant products. A vision is important because it touches on the purpose of the business. Without a purpose, it will be hard for a company to succeed or win customers. In the case of my new start up, the vision is to introduce a new type of service to companies in a specific area of activity. The need is there and exists for a segment of companies; the challenge of my new business is to convince them that the services we offer are a better way to meet their need than existing services.
Most businesses write down their visions and share them with employees, suppliers, and customers. The vision statement explains the reason for being. It's up to the entrepreneur to develop and then communicate the vision. It will help keep the company focused. And will help bring your vision to life.
